Abstract

The devices used in venous access are becoming more and more common in patients, for the infusion of large volumes of solutions, with the aim of keeping the patient hemodynamically stable, nursing acts in the context of sustaining the effectiveness in the treatment and quality of care provided with based on scientific evidence. The present study aims to seek information for assistance in the face of the incidence of infections and the factors that lead to the occurrence of complications in venous sites, these with strategic destinations with important implementation actions in the same way for the production of knowledge in evidence-based practices. in nursing care. This is an integrative review in the area of ​​venous catheters, to improve the identification of factors that lead to these intercurrences in catheters, seeking to highlight interventional nursing measures as a prophylactic measure. In Intensive Care Units, infection rates are due to the patient being exposed to various therapies, which mostly comprise therapeutically invading the patient with the use of catheters. negative and fungal infections, health-related infections, are important and aggravating factors for the public of hospital patients, as they directly interfere with the length of stay, hospital costs and morbidity and mortality, the nurse's performance permeates in a holistic, managerial, humane way and with a look accentuated clinic. It was observed that a large proportion of short-term catheter infections remained, the evidence-based interventions implemented in the bundles act positively in reducing infections when well implemented and treating the professional's role in health education and training with the team attributing global care .
