Abstract

The research project aims to investigate the use and impact of information technology (IT) in companies in Espera Feliz-MG, highlighting the importance of IT for operational efficiency, innovation, and business competitiveness. UEMG Carangola plays a crucial role in training IT professionals, making it essential to understand the practices adopted by local companies and identify professional insertion opportunities for graduates and students of the Information Systems course. The research will use a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, with the application of a structured questionnaire addressing aspects such as IT applications, resource origins, technical support, and job and internship opportunities. The theoretical foundation highlights the relevance of IT in the business environment. The research aims to identify the needs and demands of companies in Espera Feliz regarding IT, enabling the adaptation of UEMG Carangola's Information Systems course to the requirements of the local market. Furthermore, it seeks to promote the integration of academia with the productive sector, contributing to regional development and the training of professionals more aligned with business demands. Collaboration between universities and companies is essential to overcome challenges and maximize the transformative potential of IT, ensuring that companies can remain competitive and innovative in an increasingly digitized and interconnected world.
