Abstract

Flexibility, essential for physical fitness and performance in daily and sports activities, varies between individuals due to factors such as gender and type of activity, highlighting the need for personalized approaches in training. Joint mobility and tissue elasticity are fundamental for adequate flexibility, and continuous and specific work is necessary for satisfactory results. This study aims to assess the flexibility of students at APAE in Itacarambi – MG, who frequently face physical-motor disabilities and postural disorders. The research will use flexibility tests, such as the Sit and Reach Test and the Flexitest, segmenting participants by shift, gender, and age groups (15 to 19 years and 20 to 29 years). The sample will consist of 30 students who regularly attend Physical Education classes. Data collection will be carried out over three weeks, using instruments such as a digital scale, measuring tape, and Wells Bench. The methodological approach is descriptive and quantitative, aiming to analyze the results to improve class planning and promote a more effective approach that enhances students' quality of life. The data obtained will serve as a basis for future research in inclusive education and physical rehabilitation, contributing to the development of pedagogical strategies and interventions adapted to the needs of APAE students. The study includes the following sections: APAE – Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional in Itacarambi – MG; School Physical Education; Classification of Disabilities; Active and Passive Flexibility; and Analysis and Discussion of Results. In the Final Considerations, a comprehensive analysis of the results obtained from the active and passive flexibility tests applied to APAE students in Itacarambi – MG will be conducted.
