O PAPEL DO ALEITAMENTO MATERNO NA PREVENÇÃO DA OBESIDADE INFANTIL
Resumen
A obesidade é uma doença crônica multifatorial que vem aumentando significativamente. É uma questão de saúde pública, posto que estudos comprovaram que crianças obesas tinham duas vezes mais chances de serem adultos obesos. Além de terem problemas ortopédicos, respiratórios, hepáticos, diabetes, hipertensão e psicológicos. Logo, a amamentação é essencial para o desenvolvimento e crescimento do bebê. O leite materno apresenta fator de proteção contra a obesidade e as alergias infantis, o imprinting metabólico pode estar implicado na explicação. Entretanto, muitos bebês não tem acesso a uma amamentação exclusiva pelos 6 meses obrigatórios, uma vez que muitos sofrem com o desmame precoce. O estudo indica que o aleitamento materno é um forte aliado na prevenção de diferentes comorbidades, porém mostra que mais estudos sobre a associação com a obesidade infantil precisam ser realizados.
