PERCEPÇÃO SOBRE AS POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS NO ÂMBITO RURAL: O CASO DA ASSOCIAÇÃO COMUNITÁRIA DA SERRA OLHO D’ÁGUA EM JARDIM-CEARÁ

Abstract

Public policies designed for family farmers are crucial for improving the quality of life of their beneficiaries, as they contribute to keeping these people in rural areas, by creating new consumer markets, generating jobs and income, which add value to products from of these families, helping to reduce poverty and hunger through food security. This study aims to demonstrate the perception of members of the Serra Olho D’Água Community Association regarding public policies developed in the rural context. The methodology adopted is descriptive in nature and is based on primary data collected from 69 questionnaires administered to members. When analyzing the results, it appears that 58% of the members have been in the association for more than five years; the majority of members (28.99%) are between 46 and 55 years old; 36.23% have completed high school; 70% are women; 92.75% identify as mixed race and 81.16% are married. Among members, 71% had access to public policies, with emphasis on the Cisternas para Todos, Bolsa Família, Pronaf, Garantia Safra and Minha Casa Minha Vida programs. Such programs have played a vital role in the development of the community and families, despite challenges such as the lack of support from the public authorities and the urgency of a more effective union between community members.
